Aluminium has exceptionally valuable recycling properties. So why not make the most of them? The advantages of sustainable, low carbon aluminium compared to primary aluminium are obvious.

Operating and producing in a sustainable manner are becoming increasingly important, and this is a development that E-MAX welcomes. Sustainability is integrated into every aspect of the way we do business. E-MAX not only has sustainable production processes but has implemented sustainability in every aspect of the business activities. For example, our locations generate energy on-site, via solar panels and our own wind turbine. We use Euro 6 trucks to keep the CO2 emissions during transport to a minimum.

Wherever possible, E-MAX makes use of recycled aluminium. Recycled aluminium is ideally suited as a raw material for the production of sustainable, low carbon profiles. Without compromising quality, you can choose a solution that cuts CO2 emissions and reduces the waste going into landfills.

With recycled aluminium, you get every bit of the quality of non-recycled aluminium, but it is much more eco-friendly: there is 95% less environmental impact from the production process than for the production of primary aluminium. In addition, 95% of the aluminium used remains in the material cycle. The lightweight of aluminium reduces the transport burden, which in turn reduces CO2 emissions. Sustainability is further ensured through use of our own logistics centre and trucks with the lowest emissions levels.

X-ECO is our most sustainable aluminium solution. We started developing this environmentally friendly product back in 2008. X-ECO stands for quality equivalence in combination with a significantly lower environmental burden. The properties of X-ECO recycled aluminium are therefore completely on par with those of primary aluminium.

This has been demonstrated after years of intensive scientific research by Vrije Universiteit Brussels. An independent expert, DNV, tested its sustainability level and awarded E-MAX a Statement of Verification of CO2 emissions for X-ECO circular aluminium. This shows that the production of X-ECO incurs an extremely low carbon footprint of 2.03 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of aluminium.
